"Rondo"

"Rondo" means "round" in Italian. It is a musical form in which a principal theme, a refrain, comes around again and again. In sculptural terms it is represented as a spiral. This sculpture is a visual song of the Florida coast in rondo form. The refrain that is repeated is the curve: the curve of the seabird's wing, the curl of the wave as it comes to the shore and finally the curved shape of the sea shell that rolls up upon the sand.
